From Testing to Targeted Treatments
European Funded Projects
2024 Annual Report
The GUIDE.MRD project is a public–private partnership funded by the Horizon Europe Innovative Health Initiative. The project focuses on developing guidance to support the appropriate and consistent use of minimal residual disease (MRD) testing in cancer research and care. Patient perspectives are included to help ensure that the guidance reflects real-world needs and considerations. The Synergist is one of the partners in the GUIDE.MRD consortium, which brings together academic, clinical, industry, and patient organisation stakeholders from across Europe.
The READI (Research in Europe and Diversity Inclusion) Project is a public-private partnership funded by the Horizon Europe Innovative Health Initiative (IHI). It aims to create a more cohesive and inclusive ecosystem for clinical studies by ensuring the participation of underserved and underrepresented populations. The Synergist is part of the READI consortium, which brings together 72 organisations across 18 countries, spanning pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, patient organisations, and regulatory bodies.
The objective of the IHI Gravitate-Health project is to improve patient access, understanding and adherence to patient information. The inability to easily access and understand high-quality health information is a significant handicap in today’s healthcare ecosystem, meaning people feel less empowered to make decisions on the management of their own health and care.
Since the commencement of this project in 2020, the Gravitate Health mission has been to equip and empower citizens as users with digital tools that make them confident, active, and responsive in their patient journey, while also specifically encouraging the safe use of medicines for improved adherence, better health outcomes and higher quality of life.
In 2023 we continued our contribution to an important EU-wide initiative on the safety use of medicines in pregnancy and breastfeeding, IMI ConcePTION. We supported the ongoing tasks in communicating with women and healthcare professionals (as part of WP5) and in developing a sustainability strategy for specific ConcePTION deliverables including the milk biobank network, information knowledge bank, and pregnancy and medication studies (WP8.7).
