Celebrating 11 years of rallying collective intelligence to co-create sustainable societal impact
2024 Annual Report
We believe the world’s most important and complex societal issues are best solved when we address them collectively.

CEO & Founder The Synergist
We have learned a lot along the way. In our journey to bring this idea to fruition, we have tested and shaped, together with our partners, the approaches, beliefs and ways of working that are necessary for success. The Synergist as a backbone organization and its system for collaboration does not only convene, but also actively creates the conditions - through governance, skills and resources - for disconnected individuals, organizations and initiatives to find common ground, rally collective intelligence and collaborate to systematically build systems to deliver real impact on the ground. In 2023 we started to capture these learnings starting with a Manifesto to inspire and inform others who aspire to become system changemakers. There is still much work to be done.
This belief has been 11 years in the making. When we started tackling societal issues such as maternal health and dengue fever 11 years ago, our idea that we could bring together people from all walks of life and harness this collective expertise and momentum to actually solve the world’s most challenging societal issues was still a germinating seed in the ground, an idea to be nurtured and tested.
11 years on, our growing global community across collaborative programs in ever-expanding areas such as patient engagement, personalized healthcare, women’s health, and sustainable wellbeing have demonstrated that this vision is not only possible, it is a proven success that can be replicated and scaled to tackle other pressing societal challenges that we face today.
Our partners and collaborators in each collaborative organization have much to be proud of, and the success of these organizations is testament to the expertise, commitment and energy they each bring. Yet we at The Synergist are especially proud of the bridges and synergies we are building across these issue areas, such as the launch of the Patient Movement Catalyst, a collaboration for patient capacity building, and taking the opportunity of the Patient Engagement Open Forum to accelerate patient engagement advancements, a flourishing community of practice in personalized healthcare to improve patient outcomes, and to accelerate much needed action in the area of women-centric care and health R&D.
